Remembering Les de Asis
For over 20 years, Les de Asis, founder of Benchmade Knives, has partnered with Clackamas Community College, educating students and industry leaders with his contagious entrepreneurial mindset. We are deeply saddened by his passing. His leadership presence will be greatly missed.
To honor his profound impact in our community, the Makerspace in the college’s new Industrial Technology Center will be named in memory of Les. His tenacious and innovative spirit embodied this center for invention in this era of rapid advancement in manufacturing technology and his legacy will carry through to the next generation of manufacturing students and entrepreneurs. This space has been designed for use by students in multiple programs, community members, and employers. Fitting with many philosophies Les lived by, the Les de Asis Makerspace will provide opportunities for exploration, skill-building and business development.
The family suggests sending memorial contributions to the Makerspace by filling in the giving form below or with “Remember Les” in the memo of a check paid to Clackamas Community College Foundation, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City OR 97045. If you have any questions regarding giving, please contact Sara Dier at the CCC Foundation: sara.dier@clackamas.edu | 503-594-3421
