Math FFX – Math Lab

The Math Department utilized their Foundation Funds for Excellence (FFX) to renovate a former computer lab in Streeter Hall (S142) into a modern, flexible learning space. Previously, the room’s furniture and layout were no longer functional for teaching, so the department invested in tables that can be easily rearranged for group work, new chairs, and additional whiteboards to cover wall space. These upgrades align with the Math Department’s active learning pedagogy and provide a collaborative environment that enhances student engagement.

This renovated space will serve as a priority classroom for math courses while remaining available for use by other departments across campus. By transforming the room into a functional and versatile learning environment, the department is expanding access to high-quality classrooms that support group-based learning and hands-on activities. By using these resources to enhance classroom infrastructure, the Math Department is enriching student learning experiences and providing a space that will benefit both math students and the broader campus community.
