Support Student Journalists at CCC

An internship in media is key for students who want a job in journalism. Unfortunately, many journalism internships are unpaid. The Linda Vogt Journalism Internship Fund gives students a stipend to intern at a media company. Your donation goes directly to a student who will earn at least minimum wage to intern in journalism. The scholarship is named for Linda Vogt, the journalism instructor at Clackamas Community College from 1987 – 2007.

In 2025, our fourth intern, Quinton Prudhomme, joined The Oregonian’s breaking news team. This was a first for CCC's journalism program. Quinton covered stories ranging from Coast Guard rescues on the Oregon coast to pelicans wandering into Portland cafés. He took photos, collaborated with staff writers, and built the skills and confidence that only come from working in a professional newsroom.

This paid internship makes it possible for student journalists to focus on building their skills, networking, and developing their careers in media. Your gift to the Linda Vogt Journalism Internship Fund ensures that students like Quinton can continue to tell Oregon’s stories and bring community college student voices to the field of journalism.

Make your gift today and help a student journalist take the next step.
